Program Sponsors
The Pucheng microfinance program is comprised of a unique group of sponsors. It has both international social service and business-oriented charitable organizations and local and regional social service organizations. Together, they provide a depth of business and social service expertise and experience to the Pucheng County Women's Sustainable Development Association (PCWSDA). Hands-on and practical management and supervision is also provided by this sponsor group which is a critical component of success. The sponsors are the following:
- The Shaanxi Provincial and Pucheng County Women's Federation's are regional and local organizations that have the mission of strengthening the status and livelihoods of women and children. They are affiliated with the All China Women's Federation. These regional and local Women’s Federations provide social, educational, economic, organizational, and local supervisory support for the program.

- Plan International/Plan China. Plan International is a British-headquartered global charitable organization operating in 49 countries. It provides a wide range of social, educational, economic, and technical services to poor women and children in developing countries. Plan China is Plan International's branch office in China and is headquartered in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province. It has over 150 staff located in the province and has provided health care, education, water supply, environmental protection, technical and financial services since 1995. Plan China has contributed seed capital for the Pucheng program as well as four other microfinance programs in the province.

- The 1990 Institute is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization originally dedicated to researching critical social and economic issues affecting China and its development. It has also implemented a number of action-oriented projects designed to improve the standard of living for the Chinese people. For the past six years, it has provided funding for 1,000 girls in rural Shaanxi province to attend primary, secondary and high schools. Through this program, it has established a close working relationship with the Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation. The organization is composed of individual volunteers skilled in business, technology, social services, and other areas. Many have had experience doing business in China.
